CTZN represents the social, everyday side of The Lucas Winery: wines rooted in old-vine Lodi vineyards, crafted for freshness, approachability, and modern drinkability. The 2023 CTZN Zinfandel comes from Olive Tree Vineyard, a Lodi Rules Certified Sustainable site planted in the 1940s on St. George rootstock. Its deeply rooted vines and classic clay-loam soils give this wine bold structure, vibrant aromatics, and natural balance.
In the glass, CTZN is generous, relaxed, and immediately inviting. A Zinfandel made for gathering. David calls it his “BBQ wine,” the bottle to open when the grill is on and the table is full. Expect ripe red and dark fruit, a touch of spice, and a smooth, easygoing finish that makes it just as comfortable with burgers and ribs as it is with weeknight pizza or a casual dinner with friends.
